So we are now settling into life in Georgia. Sort of. I must say, one of my favorite things about living stateside again is pay-at-the-pump gas. How did I ever live without this? The idea that I can leave Mouth in the car while pumping gasoline and paying for it amazes me! And how about self serve lanes at the store? Every store seems to have one. Walmart, the grocery, even Home Depot. It seems easy enough. Scan, bag…scan, bag…scan, bag. Unless you are using your own bags. Yes, I’m the lady in front of you who has brought her own bags to the store. Anyways, when you are using your own bags, the machine gets confused. It tells you to remove all items from the bagging area. It will not let you scan your items until you have removed ‘unpurchased’ items from the bagging area. “Please check to see if personal items are in the bagging area.” Quite frankly, ‘the voice’ gets a little rude and demanding. It turns out, for any of you who decide to bring your own bags to the grocery store, the head cashier can reset the scales once your bags are on. Just a little tip from your reintegrating Air Force wife.
